Safer gambling
Keep it a game.
Football Hub is for research, and it never takes a bet. If you do bet, here is how to keep it in hand, the signs it is slipping, and where to find free, confidential help.
Football Hub and betting.
Football Hub is only for people aged 18 or over, and we check your date of birth when you join. It is an analysis tool, not a bookmaker: it never takes bets, never holds money and never gives tips. The analyst, the AI assistant and the data can all be wrong, and no edge makes a bet safe. Every bet is your own decision, so only ever stake what you can afford to lose. Our terms of use say the same.
Keeping it in hand.
- Decide what you can afford to lose before you start, and stop when it has gone.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit.
- Never chase losses, and never borrow to bet.
- Do not bet when you are upset, stressed or have been drinking.
- Keep track of what you spend. Your bookmaker's account shows your history.
- Take breaks, and keep plenty in your life that is not betting.
Signs it is becoming a problem.
Any one of these is worth taking seriously, in yourself or in someone close to you.
- Spending more money or time on betting than you meant to
- Chasing losses, or betting bigger to win back what has gone
- Borrowing money, or using money meant for bills, to bet
- Hiding your betting from the people close to you
- Feeling anxious, low or irritable when you are not betting
- Betting to escape problems, rather than for fun
